Troubleshooting lag and stuttering issues in Outriders – In this guide, you will learn how to troubleshoot lag and stuttering issues in Outriders on your computer.
Outriders drags and stutters for many PCusers.
Outriders is clearly a AAA title, and it’s also completely online. Most AAA editions released in recent years have not been free of performance issues. Most had terrible performance problems in the first month after release. Well, unfortunately, riders suffer the same fate. In the PC version of Outriders, players are experiencing problems such as lag, fps drops and stuttering. So I decided to make a list of bugs and solutions to fix them.
Is your system powerful enough to run Outrider?
Before you dive into this tutorial, you should familiarize yourself with Outriders’ various graphics presets and know what hardware you will need:
As you can see, you’ll need an AMD Ryzen 5 2600x or similar, a GTX 1070 and 16GB of RAM if you want to get 60fps in Outriders at 1080p resolution. This should tell you if your system is good enough to run outriders without lag.
Are you using the latest graphics drivers optimized specifically for outriders?
Nvidia has already released the Game Ready driver for Outriders. Version 465.89, and it was released on 3/30/2021. The new Game Ready driver supports the use of outriders with NVIDIA DLSS technology. You can download it here or via GeForce Experience.
AMD has also released the Adrenaline driver for Outriders. It’s called Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.3.2. You can download it here.
Let’s try to catch up withfirst.
Intermediate setting of the graphics configuration
This is the first thing you need to do once you start the game and go to the Settings menu. I know a lot of people still don’t pay attention to the graphics settings in games. But believe me, they should. This is the easiest way to get some extra FPS and performance out of a game.
There’s probably nothing wrong with your game. And the lag is caused by the game’s graphics settings being too high. In that case, follow my guide to setting up the Outriders chart. I tested the game on a GTX 1050 ti.
Running the game with DX 12 (useful for RTX 30 series users)
This solution was originally suggested by the Steam /Prozender user. Here’s what he has to say:
In a pair: Outriders demo -> Control -> Properties -> Startup option -> write -force -dx12″ in the text box without .
This fix has already been confirmed by many Steam users. So you can try it without hesitation.
Your GPU control panel can help you
Now it’s time to optimize the settings in the graphics card control panel. Nvidia users open the Nvidia Control Panel > click on the Image Preview Settings button under 3D Settings on the left and make sure the Use Advanced 3D Settings option is selected. Now select Manage 3D Settings in the left pane and click on the Program Settings tab. Find Outriders in the drop-down menu under Select a program to configure.
If for some reason you don’t see a game in the list, click the Add button and another list will appear with all the recently used applications. Vote for the outcasts.
If you still can’t detect the game, you will have to add the .exe file manually. To do this, click the Browse button and go to the folder where you installed Outriders. Select the executable file or .exe file, which in this case should be Outriders-Win64-Shipping.exe. Once you have successfully added a game, you will see that the program settings become playable. Now make the following settings:
Image Enhancement: Wire optimization
Power Management : Prefers maximum performance
Low latency mode : Out.
Vertical synchronization : Texture filtration
– Quality : Power
AMD users can also do something similar in their control panels. Disable Radeon to prevent latency, gain, anisotropic filtering and frame rate control. Disable Image Sharpening, Morphology Filtering, V-Sync, Max Tessellation, OpenGL Triple Buffering and Radeon Chill. Set the Tessellation and Shader Cache modes to AMD Optimized and the Anti-Aliasing Mode and Anti-Aliasing Method modes to Use Application settings and Multi-sampling, respectively. Set the quality of texture filtering to Performance and GPU usage to Graphic. Finally, simply activate the optimization of the surface format.
for laptop users Nvdia
If you are using a laptop with a dedicated Nvidia GPU, make sure your laptop is using a dedicated GPU and not an integrated GPU.
To do this, open the Nvidia Control Panel, click Manage 3D Settings, and set the Preferred GPU section to Nvidia High Performance Processor. Reboot the system.
I assume you are using Discord.
Now, based on the fact that Outriders is an ongoing co-op mode, I suspect many players will play it with their friends. And I’m sure they use Discord as a means of communication. Therefore, it is recommended to make some adjustments to prevent Discord from affecting system performance.
This is an experience I have personally had. On my previous gaming rig, which was equipped with an RTX 2060 Super, i5 8400 and 16GB of RAM, I had a lot of trouble with Discord at first. When I played games like Destiny 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 and Apex Legends on a regular basis. Every time I started Discord, the online games slowed down terribly.
In this case, proceed as follows:
- The gap at the start
- Go to the user settings
- Click on Language and Video in the left sidebar.
- Scroll down to the extended area
- Disable the OpenH264 video codec provided by Cisco System, Inc.
- Disable Enable High Quality of Service Package Priority.
- Click the Overlay button in the sidebar.
- Disable game overlay
- In the left sidebar, click on Appearance
- Scroll down to the extended area.
- Disabling Hardware Acceleration
- Restart Discord
Now let’s talk about methods of correcting stuttering.
Are any processor management applications running in the background?
If you have heavy applications running in the background, chances are that latency is caused by certain resource-consuming applications. Just open Task Manager, click on the Processes tab, and then CPU. Make sure the arrow next to it is pointing down.
Resource-intensive applications have an edge. Look for processes that you don’t need, but are consuming a lot of CPU. Right-click on it and click on End Task.
Windows background recording can lead to.
Turn it off by going to the Game Settings, in the Windows Settings menu. On the left, there should be something called handles. Click it and deactivate the background recording function.
outputs do not always work well withoverlays.
Disable any overlays you currently have. Overlays from apps like Discord, Nvidia GeForce Experience, Steam, etc. are known to cause problems in games. Then take them out of service.
Try it first and let me know in the comment section below if your problems are solved or not.
